Vancouver Olympic Games 2010

How can we not talk about the Vancouver Olympic Games 2010 on a ski blog!

It seems to be impossible because this event is so important all over the world…
That is why, through this article we want to retrace the French athletes' team and show how we are proud to be French, drawing up France’s results.

Moreover, Franche-ComtĂ© being our region, we will take a special look at the Franc-Comtois skiers’performance during biathlon and Nordic Combined events.

With 11 medals especially thanks to the biathlon, French people are proud to see their country get the 8th place tied with Sweden and China.

Let’s start with gold medals, both obtained by two young Franc-Comtois men:

Vincent JAY (biathlon- 10km men’s sprint)

Jason LAMY CHAPPUIS (Nordic Combined-10km).

Congratulations to our “Doubiste” and our “Jurassien” !

Concerning the silver medals, they have been won in different sporting events:

- The first one was awarded to the women's team relay 4x6 km which is composed of Marie-Laure BRUNET, Marie DORIN, Sandrine BAILLY and Sylvie BECAERT.

- The second one was attributed to Deborah ANTHONIOZ, the woman's snowboard cross champion who avoided the recurrent falls of this spectacular sport.

- Martin FOURCADE, faster than his brother Simon Fourcade, also qualified for second place in the 15km biathlon.

With 6 medals, the bronze medals are the most numerous and in many snow sports:

- We can find Vincent JAY again for the men's 12,5km pursuit in biathlon.

- Marie-Laure BRUNET, his girlfriend followed him and also obtained the bronze medal in her event of biathlon 10km women.

- Keeping to biathlon, we can continue with Marie DORIN who has already obtained a silver medal with her relay women's team. She won a bronze medal thanks to her performance in the 7,5 km sprint.

- We have also Marion JOSSERAND in freestyle skiing who got the medal in ski cross.

- Another medal again in snowboard cross but this time by a young man, Tony RAMOIN.

- We will finish by the older man of 36 years-old, Mathieu BOZZETTO who brought the 11th French medal thanks to his rapidity and precision in the parallel giant slalom for men. His final medal before retiring.

We can be proud of these wonderful performances!

We can also thank our French athletes for such as an exciting Olympic Games…And also think about those who arrived in fourth place, particular the men’s relay team in biathlon who had an extraordinary competition.
